Botanical Series

In 2018, Bekky began a two-year study on a Masters of Crafts at the University of Brighton. During this time of deep creative investigation, she discovered the Biophilic Effect, which relates to our intrinsic human connection with the natural world, and applied it to her slip-cast porcelain ceramic process. She designed large scale sculptural wall panels made of multiple small casts coming together to depict botanical murals, bringing nature indoors, in particular into hospitals and medical centres. The intention of these pieces being to bring calm and peace to the viewer and tranquillity to the space.
